The seed for Three Rights Left was planted at Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen in St.Helena over a glass of Charbono and their popular Duck Burger. The intrigue over this then unknown (to us) varietal led down a familiar path for other Charbono enthusiasts. We tried as many different labels as we could (the fun part) and asked our wine industry friends what they knew about this rare varietal. The answer was always, “not much.”
That is where Three Rights Left got its start. We sourced our grapes from a great vineyard in Suisun Valley, an up and coming AVA just east of Napa that is known for its warm days and cool nights from the moist ocean breezes entering through Suisun Bay. We worked with a terrific winemaking team at Judd’s Hill’s in Napa where the wine is made and bottled.
The Three Rights Left name itself is a homage to the less than conventional path we took to get here; three rights make a left on the streets of life. Using a “roundabout” approach to building a wine label we are determined to educate people about the wondrous allure of Charbono. We believe that after your first sip of our wine, you will say to yourself, “Once I was blind, now I can see.”
